Griffey Jr.'s son to play in Under Armour All-American Game
Trey Griffey, the son of future Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., will participate in the Under Armour All-American Game on January 5 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
The 6-2, 190-pound receiver for Dr. Phillips (Orlando) caught 72 passes for 970 yards and 11 touchdowns this year while setting team records for receptions in a game (13), receiving yards in a game (188) as well as receptions in a season and yards in a season.
Dr. Phillips' season ended last week with a 49-13 loss to Plant (Tampa). The Panthers finished with a 10-2 mark.
Griffey is the latest Dr. Phillips star to be an Under Armour All-American, following Alabama's Hasean Clinton-Dix and Florida State's Kenny Shaw.
Griffey has yet to decide on where he’ll play his college football, but he went on an official visit to Michigan State two weeks ago.
