Hawaii promotes Moniz for Heisman Trophy

Northwestern's Dan Persa isn't the only underdog quarterback receiving some Heisman Trophy love from his own school.

Hawaii has released a video on YouTube for quarterback Bryant Moniz with a "Mighty Mo" theme, a campaign designed to net the Warrior a trip to New York for the Heisman festivities.

The highlight of the footage has to be the Hawaii marching band's rendition of the "Hawaii Five-O" theme song. Although seeing Moniz surfing ranks a close second.

Last season's national leader in total offense at 367.3 yards per game will have a hard time getting the attention of Heisman voters, especially the media members who live out East. Most of the Warriors' contests in the WAC are played late Saturday night. But keep in mind that former Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan was able to overcome that hurdle and become a finalist for the award in 2007.
