Is Florida on the verge of landing a Class of 2013 QB?
Florida recently hosted 2013 quarterback recruits Tim Boyle and Ryan Buchanan, and many Gator fans were hopeful that one of the signal-callers would commit to play for Will Muschamp and Co. Before the visits, Florida didn't have a quarterback among its 16 verbal commitments for 2013.
And the Gators still don't have a QB after Buchanan ended up pledging to Ole Miss while Boyle left Gainesville without giving his word to the UF staff.
The decision by Buchanan wasn't too surprising considering he is a Mississippi native. He was considered the Gators' top choice, however. Boyle (Xavier High School; Middletown, CT), meanwhile, reportedly has Florida No. 1 on his list of schools.
Check out highlights below of Boyle from his junior season in 2011.
If Boyle ultimately decides to pass on Florida, Muschamp may have to cross his fingers that former South Florida commit Asianti Woulard pledges to the school. He is scheduled to be in Gainesville on June 8 as the team's interest has picked up in the Winter Park, Fla., native.
It's also possible that Muschamp, coordinator Brent Pease and the rest of the offensive staff elect to pass on a quarterback in 2013 if all of their top options become unavailable.
