Louisville star receiver Parker injures foot

Louisville released a statement late Friday night with the news that star wide receiver DeVante Parker injured his left foot in the day's practice.

The electric 6-3, 208-pound senior is scheduled to see Dr. Bob Anderson in Charlotte, N.C. in the upcoming days after he was evaluated by team physicians. No further information was given in the statement.

Perhaps it isn't too serious of an injury, but it's certainly not the best sign that he is going out of state to be examined. Parker caught 55 passes for 885 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Cardinals last season.

Bobby Petrino's squad opens the season in 10 days at home against Miami (FL), which will be its first game as a member of the ACC. Any potential time lost by Parker would put more pressure on sophomore James Quick and senior Eli Rogers, the team's other top pass-catchers.

In case you need a reminder of Parker's potential NFL first-round talent, check out the video below.
