LSU knocks Oklahoma out of No. 1 spot in AP Top 25

After passing another difficult early season road test, LSU has claimed the top spot in the new AP Top 25 poll for the first time since 2007.

The Tigers knocked Oklahoma out of the top slot after thoroughly beating West Virginia 47-21 in Morgantown. The Sooners had been No. 1 since the preseason and remained unbeaten with a 38-28 home victory against Missouri.

LSU received 42 first-place votes while No. 2 Oklahoma claimed 12. Alabama received five first-place votes and is ranked third while No. 4 Boise State had one.
