LSU's Kragthorpe steps down due to Parkinson's disease

Real tough news out of LSU as Steve Kragthorpe has stepped down from his position as offensive coordinator due to Parkinson's disease.

The 46-year-old Kragthorpe will remain on the team's staff to only coach quarterbacks, while former Bowling Green offensive coordinator Greg Studrawa will take over play-calling duties.

"I hope for the next 8 to 12 years I can still be here coaching the QBs," Kragthorpe said, according to the official Twitter page of LSU football. "At this point, it is best for me to only coach the QBs."

It's another tough blow for Kragthorpe, who is regarded as one of the good guys in the sport. His wife, Cynthia, has MS.

The National Football Post sends its deepest thoughts to Kragthorpe and the LSU family.
