Minnesota linebacker Tinsley passes away

Minnesota team spokesman Andy Seeley has confirmed the death of linebacker Gary Tinsely.

The 22-year-old was found unresponsive Friday morning in his apartment on campus and was pronounced dead at the scene. University spokesman Chuck Tombarge says there's no indication of foul play.

The Jacksonville, Fla., native completed his eligibility at the end of last season after playing in 44 games during his career. He was the team's second-leading tackler last fall. The First Coast High School product played seven games as a freshman in 2008, saw action in every game in 2009 and started all 12 games in 2010 and 2011. He was a four-year letter-winner.

The National Football Post sends its condolences to the Tinsley family.
