North Carolina gets one-year postseason ban

The NCAA has banned North Carolina's football program from the 2012 postseason and placed new head coach Larry Fedora's team on three years' probation.

The governing body announced Monday that it found UNC responsible for academic fraud, impermissible agent benefits, playing ineligible players and failing to monitor the football program.

The school had previously self-imposed penalties, including vacating all 16 wins for 2008 and 2009, reducing nine scholarships over the next three years and placing the program on two years of probation.

Here is the complete NCAA release.
