Notre Dame gets pledge from imposing wide receiver
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly is slated to add another weapon to future offensive units in South Bend, as the Fighting Irish received a pledge from wide receiver Miles Boykin on Wednesday evening.
The 6-4, 212-pounder from Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, IL, is one of the more physically gifted receivers in the Class of 2015.
The Rivals.com four-star recruit, who is one of the top players in the Land of Lincoln, chose the Irish over in-state Illinois, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State and Missouri, which were his finalists. Ohio State and Oregon also offered, among many others.
It was the third straight day that a 2015 recruit verbally committed to Notre Dame. Running back Josh Adams and cornerback Ashton White gave pledges on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Boykin joins Jalen Guyton and C.J. Sanders as wide receivers among the 17 pledges in this cycle for ND.
Boykin is a Michael Floyd-type receiver who could be a nice red-zone target at the next level. He recorded 51 catches for 730 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2013 during his junior campaign.
