Notre Dame lands top Class of 2015 quarterback
Just a few days after visiting South Bend for Notre Dame's exciting win over Stanford, Brandon Wimbush has decided that Penn State isn't for him after all.
The New Jersey product, who had given a verbal pledge to the Nittany Lions, decided to commit to the Fighting Irish on Tuesday. Wimbush essentially replaces fellow Class of 2015 quarterback Blake Barnett, who decommitted from ND about four months ago.
Wimbush, a pro-style signal-caller with very good athleticism, is a four-star propect, according to the Rivals.com rankings.
The 6-2, 215-pound Jersey City, N.J., native is considered one of the better quarterbacks overall in the 2015 class. He also held offers from major powers such as Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and Oregon, among others.
Through the first four games of this season, Wimbush has thrown for 1,112 yards and 12 touchdowns, and he has rushed for an additional 221 yards and three scores.
Notre Dame now has 18 verbal commits for its 2015 recruiting class.
