Notre Dame sends top recruit 262 letters in one day
Matt Elam is one sought-after football player.
The Class of 2014 defensive tackle from John Hardin High School (Elizabethtown, KY) revealed on Twitter that Notre Dame sent him 262 recruiting letters on Wednesday, which almost doubled what he received from in-state Kentucky this past summer.
The 6-6, 350-pounder, whose top three schools consist of the Fighting Irish, the Wildcats and Alabama, tweeted out a picture of the ND letters from his Twitter account. Of course, Elam made headlines on July 1 when it was revealed that he was sent 182 letters in one day from members of Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops’ staff. The Wildcats sent quarterback Drew Barker 100 letters last spring, which helped garner his commitment to UK.
Elam, who took an official visit to Notre Dame last month, is considered one of the top defensive players in the country. He plans to visit Kentucky during the weekend of December 14 and ultimately make his college commitment announcement on January 4 during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
