Penn State loses Eliades for rest of the season

Penn State finally was able to establish a sound rushing attack Saturday against Temple after sputtering throughout the first three weeks of the season.

However, the job just became a little more difficult for Evan Royster and Co.

The Nittany Lions learned Sunday that starting right tackle Lou Eliades has been lost for his senior season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against the Owls. The 6-4, 310-pound lineman is scheduled to have surgery within two weeks.

Eliades brought experience to a line that has allowed just one sack of freshman quarterback Rob Bolden on the season. He had started 17 consecutive games on the offensive line.

Redshirt junior Chima Okoli replaced Eliades after the injury and likely will start against Iowa Saturday, although redshirt sophomore Mike Farrell also is a possibility.
