Penn State pledge opens up his recruitment

Zayd Issah, a Pennsylvania athlete who gave his verbal pledge to Penn State on June 29, has opened up his college recruitment.

The 6-3, 210-pound Central Dauphin High School (Harrisburg, PA) product is the latest Nittany Lions recruit to decommit or reasses his options, although he maintains that he is still interested in playing for Bill O'Brien in State College. The Class of 2013 recruit said he believes it would be best to look at his options again, according to Blue-White Illustrated.

Issah, who is a hybrid linebacker/safety and slot receiver, has offers from powers such as Oregon, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Virginia and Iowa. His recruitment is expected to pick up in the next few months as more programs take notice of his intriguing versatility and athleticism.

The Nittany Lions recruited Issah as an outside linebacker because of his prospects of being a good rusher off the edge.
