Police issue arrest warrant for LSU quarterback Jefferson

Baton Rouge police have issued arrest warrants for LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and linebacker Joshua Johns following a fight outside a bar that left four people injured last week.

The players have been charged with second-degree battery and have been suspended indefinitely.

Investigators have contacted the players' attorney, Nathan Fisher, and LSU head coach Les Miles, and asked the players to turn themselves in.

A police report states that 19-year-old Victoria Long said she witnessed several Tigers players beating one of the alleged victims and saw Jefferson kick the male victim in the face.

LSU faces Oregon in a battle of highly ranked teams next Saturday in the season opener at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. Backup quarterback Jarrett Lee will now likely get the start under center against the Ducks.
