Safety Jackson returns to Tennessee

Tennessee safety Janzen Jackson has returned to school and is enrolled for the second session of summer classes, according to the schools admissions office. Classes for the second summer semester begin Thursday.

Perhaps the Vols' most talented defender, Jackson has been away from the team since February because of personal issues. The junior defensive back, however, remained in Knoxville and trained away from campus.

Getting Jackson back is huge for head coach Derek Dooley and the Vols, especially because of the personnel issues the team has dealt with throughout the offseason on defense. Jackson is expected to be a full participant when fall camp opens.

Jackson made 69 tackles and tied for the team lead with five interceptions in 2010. He earned second-team coaches’ all-SEC honors last season.
