The search resumed for missing Purdue football player Sean Matti around 5 a.m. local time Tuesday morning in and around Lake Freeman, the place where he was last seen swimming Sunday evening.

Divers, search dogs and an Indiana State Police airplane failed to locate Matti despite searching late Sunday and all day Monday. Matti was last seen swimming in the water around 5 p.m. Sunday after attending a party with friends.

The fifth-year walk-on running back was last seen wearing gray shorts with a No. 1 on them, but no shirt or shoes. He's 6-0, 220 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

"He's a good program guy. A scout team contributor who is well liked by his teammates," said Tom Schott, Purdue associate athletic director.

The National Football Post sends its thoughts and prayers to Matti and his family, and hope for a safe and sound recovery.
