Taylor verbally commits at Florida's Junior Day
Florida started its Junior Day very strong Saturday as the program received a verbal commitment from Kelvin Taylor (Glades Day High School; Belle Glades, Fla.), one of the top running backs in the Class of 2013.
The son of former Florida All-American running back Fred Taylor, Kelvin Taylor eclipsed Emmitt Smith as the all-time leading rusher in the state of Florida with 9,698 yards last season. Alabama was also heavily in the mix for Taylor's services, but he cited the Gators coaching staff, the university's academics, its proximity to home and the program's tradition as top factors in his decision.
Taylor, who plans to enroll next January, will join fellow running back commitment Adam Lane (Winter Haven High School; Winter Haven, Fla.) in next year's class. He said he will try to get other top players to join him next year in Gainesville this weekend at the program's Junior Day.
