Week 3 ACC power rankings

Every Tuesday during the season I will release league power rankings, which you can find under the College tab at the top of this page. The six BCS conferences will all have their own power rankings, while I will also rank the best of the non-BCS squads.

With that in mind, let's take a look at how the ACC shapes up:

1. Virginia Tech (2-0): The Hokies rode strong special teams to a 42-7 victory over Austin Peay.

4. Georgia Tech (1-1): The Yellow Jackets racked up 712 total yards as they overmatched Presbyterian 59-3.

5. Virginia (2-0): The Cavaliers notched a 17-16 victory over Penn State, aided by four missed field goals by the Nittany Lions.

6. N.C. State (1-1): The Wolfpack forced four UConn turnovers in a 10-7 road victory.

7. Wake Forest (2-0): Jim Grobe's team notched an ACC win by closing out North Carolina late in the league opener for both squads.

8. North Carolina (1-1): The Tar Heels fell to Wake Forest on the road 28-27 when Demon Deacons quarterback Tanner Price scored on a 1-yard sneak with 2:09 left.

9. Maryland (2-0): Randy Edsall's Terps are 2-0 after holding on for the win over Temple.
