Cantor Gaming sports book director arrested

Cantor Gaming sports book director Mike Colbert was arrested in Las Vegas Wednesday by state gaming officials in regards to a warrant filed in Queens, New York, according to Howard Stutz and Chris Sieroty of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.</p>

Colbert, who also serves as the manager of the race & sports book at the M Resort in Henderson, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Details are vague at the current moment, but Cantor officials did confirm the arrest to the Review-Journal, while also declining to comment further.

In addition to the M Resort, Cantor Gaming operates the race and sports books at the Venetian, Palazzo, Hard Rock, Tropicana, Palms and Cosmopolitan casinos in Las Vegas.

Update (5:55pm ET): The Review-Journal is reporting that Colbert was arrested at his home at 6:00am pacific this morning and faces eight counts of conspiracy, money laundering and enterprise corruption. In addition, the charges handed down in New York involve, one of the largest offshore sports books in the world. Further, Colbert was one of eight people arrested in Las Vegas in conjunction with the New York charges, although he was the only individual arrested with ties to the gaming industry in Nevada.
