Channing Crowder calls it a career
Two weeks after being cut by the Miami Dolphins, veteran linebacker Channing Crowder has decided to retire.
Appearing on WQAM in South Florida, Crowder told radio host Sid Rosenberg, “I’m retiring. I’m hanging it up.”
A six-year veteran out of the University of Florida, Crowder was a third-round selection in the 2005 draft. In six seasons with the Dolphins, the 27-year-old amassed 470 tackles, 2.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in 74 career starts.
While we think it’s quite plausible Crowder could return to the field in 2011 if given the right offer, as of the current moment, no such opportunity exists.
