Dungy's son heading to the Pac-10
Chalk another one up for head coach Chip Kelly and the Oregon Ducks.
Tampa Plant High School (FL) defensive back Eric Dungy-the son of Super Bowl winning head coach Tony Dungy-has announced he will attend the University of Oregon next season, according to Chris Hays of the Orlando Sentinel.
The 6’1”, 175-pound defensive back will head to Eugene and join a recruiting class that already features four-star running back Lache Seastrunk (Temple, TX), four-star cornerback Dior Mathis (Cass Technical H.S., Michigan) and four-star tight end Curtis White (Sheldon H.S., Oregon).
"Coach Kelly is a great guy so I can understand why anybody would want to play for him,” Dungy told the Orlando Sentinel. “I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of top-notch players wanted to go there."
As of the current moment, ESPN.com has the Oregon Ducks’ 2010 recruiting class ranked No. 23 in the country.
However, that number is sure to skyrocket if the Ducks can make a last-second move and land the highly-touted Owamagbe Odighizuwa-a four-star defensive end from Portland, Oregon.
National Signing Day is tomorrow, February 3.
