Four-star running back makes his decision

At a press conference held at Silver Hill Methodist Church earlier this evening in Spartanburg, South Carolina, coveted high school running back Marcus Lattimore announced his decision.

One of the nation’s most prized running back recruits is staying in-state and heading to South Carolina, according to GreenvilleOnline.com.

The 6’0”, 215-pound senior from James Byrnes High School in Duncan, South Carolina was the No. 2 rated running back in the country by ESPN.com. Lattimore is a two-time South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year winner who rushed for 1,898 yards and 31 touchdowns this past season.

Lattimore’s decision came down to a choice between South Carolina and Auburn. Had he chosen the Tigers over the Gamecocks, Lattimore would be joining running back Michael Dyer, who is rated as the No. 1 high school running back in the country by ESPN.com, as part of Auburn’s 2010 recruiting class.

Spurrier strikes again.
