Gilyard to meet with Patriots today
From Joe Fortenbaugh and Wes Bunting:
Wide receiver Mardy Gilyard will work out for the New England Patriots on Tuesday, the former Cincinnati Bearcat told the NFP during a podcast early Tuesday morning.
The Pats are scheduled to check out both Gilyard and quarterback Tony Pike later this afternoon in Cincinnati.
The 6’0”, 187-pound wideout was one of the most dangerous players in college football last season, catching 87 passes for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns for the 12-1 Bearcats.
In addition to the Patriots, Gilyard said he has been talking with the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos—who worked him out last week after Cincinnati’s pro day.
In other draft prospect news, Ole Miss wide receiver/running back Dexter McCluster will work out for the Denver Broncos on Thursday, according to Scout.com.
McCluster has already worked out for the Cleveland Browns and will meet with the Tennessee Titans later this month.
