Hillis expected to play
Despite missing practice on Wednesday due to a thigh injury, it appears that Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis will play on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, per a report from Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
While this appears to be good news for Hillis owners, we advise you to seriously taper your expectations. The Steelers boast the league’s top-ranked rushing defense (62.2 yds/gm) and will likely be loading up the box in an effort to shut down the Cleveland ground game.
To complicate matters further, it looks like rookie quarterback Colt McCoy will get the start in place of Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, who are both battling ankle injuries.
Yes, Hillis had a nice outing against the Baltimore Ravens run defense earlier this year, but he’ll be less than 100% on Sunday and will have an inexperienced quarterback running the offense.
Owners are advised to look for another option.
