Iowa lineman walks away from terrifying moped crash (video)

Josh Keoppel is lucky to be alive.

The 22-year old center from the University of Iowa was involved in a freaky accident Monday morning when the moped he was riding was hit by a Ford F150 pickup truck at an intersection in Iowa City.

Amazingly, after getting hit by the truck and doing a front flip before slamming into the ground, Koeppel was able to stand up on his own and walk around. The senior lineman was then taken to the hospital where he was treated for bruises and scrapes.

Koeppel is expected to miss this Saturday’s home opener against Eastern Illinois.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are currently ranked ninth in the country in the Associated Press poll, as well as ninth in the first edition of the National Football Post’s Top 25.
