Jason Campbell is headed to Chicago
The Bears were 7-3 through ten games last season and were poised to make another run at the Super Bowl. But starting quarterback Jay Cutler was lost for the season on November 20 against the Chargers and the season quickly went to hell.
Chicago has apparently learned how important it is to have a capable backup at the quarterback position, so the team got proactive on the first day of free agency and signed free agent Jason Campbell.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, it’s a one-year deal.
In Campbell, the Bears land a signal-caller with 70 career starts under his belt. So if something were to happen to Cutler in the future, hopefully Chicago can avoid another four-game losing streak like the one they endured when Caleb Hanie took the reigns last season.
