Keep an eye on Anthony Dixon today

The one downside to the SEC being such a powerhouse conference is that a few of the more skillful players tend to go overlooked due to the abundance of talent.

Mississippi State running back Anthony Dixon falls into this category.

The 6’1”, 234-pound bruiser finished 19th in the country and second in the SEC in rushing yards last season (1,391), while scoring 12 touchdowns and averaging a solid 5.4 yards per carry.

Thursday, Dixon will be in action for NFL personnel at Mississippi State’s pro day in Starkville.

Dixon led the SEC in rushing yards per game (126.5, 9th in NCAA) and put up 100-yard efforts against Vanderbilt, LSU, Georgia Tech, Houston, Middle Tennessee State, Kentucky, Arkansas and Ole Miss.

And he did all of that despite missing the first game of the year and not having the opportunity to play in a bowl game because Mississippi State went 5-7.

Here’s the pro day rundown for Thursday:

1. Akron
2. Central Florida
3. East Carolina
4. Massachusetts
5. Mississippi State
6. Murray State
7. Northern Arizona
8. UNLV
