Lions tender offers to linemen
The Detroit Lions have tendered offers to offensive guards Manny Ramirez (not to be confused with “Mannywood”) and Dylan Gandy as well as cornerback Kevin Hobbs, according to Tim Twentyman of The Detroit News.
The Lions are expected to announce the moves on Thursday.
Ramirez—who has started 15 games for the Lions over the past two seasons, including 12 in 2009—was hit with an original round tender, meaning Detroit would receive a fourth-round pick should Ramirez sign elsewhere and the Lions not match the offer. He will make $1.1 million next season.
Gandy—a 27-year-old out of Texas Tech—will make $1.176 million next year. The offensive guard started five games for the Lions in 2009.
