Locker says he'll do it all at the Combine
Almost every year at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, a quarterback decides to opt out of throwing or running because he prefers the comforts and benefits that come with a Pro Day workout.
Jake Locker isn’t that guy.
Locker could hear his name called during the first round of April's draft.
“I plan on doing everything at the Combine,” Locker told the National Football Post via text message Tuesday afternoon.
The 6-3, 230-pound signal-caller from Washington currently ranks fifth at the quarterback position in the NFP rankings. But a strong showing at Lucas Oil Stadium next week could solidify Locker’s place in the first round of April’s draft.
A mobile quarterback with good footwork and a big-time arm, the main concerns for scouts in regards to the former Husky captain are his accuracy and consistency.
But with so many NFL teams in need of an upgrade at the quarterback position, Locker’s game experience and physical skill set will be hard to overlook come April.
