Manning not fazed by Williams’ comments

MIAMI, Fla--Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is a professional.

Not just on the field when the action is live, but at the podium in front of reporters as well.

Manning was made available to the media at the Colts’ team hotel in rainy Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Monday evening, and it came as no surprise that one of the first questions he faced was intended to provide a little bulletin board fodder before Sunday’s big game.

When the Pro Bowl quarterback was asked what his initial reaction was to the recent comments made by Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, Manning didn’t take the bait.

“Didn’t have one,” the Indy signal caller responded. “I didn’t hear it. I guess I’ve been playing long enough that I didn’t have any reaction to it.”

As perfect a response as any Colts fan could ask for.

The comments Manning was responding to were made by Williams last week when asked how he planned on slowing down the Colts offense.

"This guy's got a great clock in his head," Williams told 104.5 The Zone. "The big thing is that he throws the ball so early that we're going to have to do a good job of finding ways to get to him, and when we do get to him we're going to have to make sure he gets a couple 'remember me' shots when we get there."

Looks like the media in South Florida will have to find another angle to hype up.
