Minnesota's Decker scores a 43 on the Wonderlic

Minnesota wide receiver Eric Decker’s senior season was cut short due to surgery he underwent to repair torn ligaments in his left foot.

As a result, the 6’3”, 215-pound wideout was unable to participate in both the NFL combine and Minnesota’s pro day workout.

However, while a foot injury can slow a player down on the field, it evidently has no effect on one’s ability to answer 50 multiple-choice questions in 12 minutes.

Decker scored a 43 on the Wonderlic test at last month’s combine, the top score at not only the wide receiver position, but for the entire group of prospects who took the test in Indianapolis as well, according to a league source.

The other top scores among the wide receivers included Georgia Tech’s Demaryius Thomas (34, who coincidentally also missed the workouts due to a foot injury), Michigan State’s Blair White (31), Notre Dame’s Golden Tate (29) and Clemson’s Jacoby Ford (28).

Rounding out the bottom of the wide receiver class were Illinois’ Arrelious Benn (11), California’s Nyan Boateng (14) and West Virginia’s Alric Arnett (14).

Other notable wide receivers:

Dezmon Briscoe (Kansas): 19
Dez Bryant (Oklahoma State): 16
Mardy Gilyard (Cincinnati): 17
