Recent Trends (Provided by our friends at Covers.com)
ATS: Against the spread
New York Giants
Giants are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
Giants are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games as a road underdog.
Giants are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games.
Giants are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games.
Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in October.
Cowboys are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
Cowboys are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. NFC.
Analysis: This is the reason we all watch Monday night football. The Titans-Jags game last week was a clunker, but expect the sparks to fly in Big D tonight when two NFC East rivals meet at JerryWorld.
The Giants have turned the corner since dropping a 29-10 stinker to the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. In three games since that loss, New York is 3-0 and is surrendering an average of just 11.0 points per game. The offense seems to be clicking as well as the G-Men are averaging 23.0 points per game since scoring 14 at Indianapolis in Week 2 and 10 against the Titans in Week 3.
On the other side of the ball sits a frustrated Cowboys team that is much better than their 1-4 record suggests. Dallas ranks third in the NFL in total offense (400.0 yds/gm) and third in total defense (281.4 yds/gm) but they have shot themselves in the foot with costly penalties and turnovers.
The Cowboys currently rank fifth in the NFL in penalties (62) and 25th in turnover differential (-5). That’s a lot of penalties for a team that has already had their bye week.
Prediction: Points, points and more points.
Pick (Current Monday night record 3-4): I’ll take the Giants and the points. More importantly, I love the OVER in this game. These two teams have combined to score 49 or more points in six of their last eight meetings.
Who ya got?
