More trouble for Big Blue?

As if Sunday night’s 27-17 loss at Philadelphia wasn’t bad enough, the New York Giants were handed some more bad news Monday afternoon.

Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is expected to miss the next three weeks with what is being called “swelling in his lower leg,” according to ESPN.com.

Nicks has been quarterback Eli Manning’s go-to-guy this season as the second-year wideout from North Carolina has caught a team-high 62 passes for 800 yards and nine touchdowns.

Manning’s fantasy value just took another serious hit. Not only is Nicks out for the next three weeks, but wide receiver Steve Smith is still on the shelf with a pectoral injury and the team isn’t sure when he’ll be able to return to action.

Look for Mario Manningham to become the No. 1 receiver in New York for the foreseeable future.
