More trouble in Carolina
As if this season couldn’t get any worse for John Fox and the Carolina Panthers, the team was hit with yet another bombshell on Wednesday afternoon.
Running back DeAngelo Williams is done for the year after being placed on injured reserve with a sprained left foot. Williams rushed for just 361 yards and one touchdown on 87 carries in six games this season.
In addition to the Williams injury, running back Jonathan Stewart missed practice on Wednesday with lingering effects from a concussion he suffered two weeks ago. As of the current moment, it looks like Mike Goodson could get his second career start Sunday vs. Baltimore.
Goodson owners shouldn’t get too excited, however. The Ravens currently rank eighth in the NFL in run defense (99.8 yds/gm) and are coming into Week 11 on extra rest, having played their most recent game last Thursday at Atlanta.
