Morgan and the Redskins reach an agreement
The Washington Redskins have been one of the most active NFL teams over the last five days and so far, the organization shows no signs of slowing down.
On the heels of landing former Indianapolis Colt Pierre Garcon, the ‘Skins have now reached an agreement with free agent wide receiver Josh Morgan, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.com. According to Florio, it’s a five-year deal that voids to two years, with those two years being worth up to $12 million with $7.5 million guaranteed.
In addition to landing both Garcon and Morgan, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Redskins are also talking with free agent wideout Eddie Royal.
It will be interested to see how all of these moves shake down in Washington. Garcon was productive in Indianapolis, but you have to wonder about his upside without Peyton Manning under center. Morgan’s been in the league for four years, but only caught 15 passes last season. And as for Royal, the four-year veteran damn near flew off the map after catching 91 passes as a rookie.
The Redskins clearly see something in all three receivers, but only time will tell if Tuesday’s aggressive signings live up to the hype.
