Playoff ratings are dominating

It didn’t matter that three of last weekend’s four divisional round playoff games weren’t close.

We were still watching.

The numbers are in and the league office has to be happy. The NFL drew the most viewers for the divisional round of the playoffs since 1994, according to the Associated Press. The four matchups averaged 33 million viewers per game.

The most-watched game? You guessed it. Brett Favre vs. Tony Romo pulled in 37.7 million viewers making it the most watched show on television since the Steelers-Cardinals Super Bowl last February.

Eat that, American Idol.

The numbers are up 15 percent from last year’s divisional round games, which averaged 28.8 million viewers.

Jets-Chargers: 35.6 million
Ravens-Colts: 30.6 million
Cardinals-Saints: 27.9 million
