Redskins continue to set up quarterback visits

Either the Washington Redskins are very serious about drafting a quarterback with the fourth overall pick, or they want everyone to believe they have a signal-caller in their crosshairs.

Ed Thompson of Scout.com is reporting that the ‘Skins will host Texas quarterback Colt McCoy next Monday and Tuesday, just 48 hours after the team meets with Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen.

Washington has already scouted quarterbacks Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) and Tim Tebow (Florida), which strengthens the belief that Jason Campbell is not the long-term answer new head coach Mike Shanahan is looking for.

However, draft time isn’t just about gathering intelligence, it’s about counter-intelligence as well.

And with the rumors floating around that some or all of the three teams drafting in front of Washington may be looking to trade down, keeping the dogs off your scent is as important as talent evaluation at this point.
