Report: Giants still getting calls about Umenyiora

With the 15th pick in the first round, the New York Giants are in a tricky spot.

The team is rumored to be interested in South Florida defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain and Clemson running back C.J. Spiller. Unfortunately, all three of those players could be off the board by the time Big Blue picks.

However, we’ve been hearing rumors that the Giants may be interested in moving up to make sure they come away with one of their top-rated prospects.

Another rumor that’s been floating around as of late pertains to disgruntled defensive end Osi Umenyiora, whom the Giants have been receiving calls recently, per a report from ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio.

Sal Pal says that while the G-Men haven’t been shopping the six-year veteran, they have been getting calls. Unfortunately, no serious offers have been made.

"Teams are calling the Giants, feeling them out," a league source told Paolantonio. "But right now, they're sitting tight."

Per Paolantonio, the Rams, Broncos, Chargers and Eagles are reportedly interested.

Should the Giants move up and select Pierre-Paul (or should he somehow fall to them at No. 15), New York may become a little more aggressive in unloading the defensive end they benched last season due to poor play.
