Report: Kiffin drops Tennessee for USC

Raise your hand if you saw this one coming.

University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin is leaving the Volunteers to become the next head coach of the USC Trojans, according to ESPN.com.

After just one year on the job in Tennessee in which the Volunteers went 7-6 (4-4 SEC) and lost the Chick-fil-A Bowl 37-14 to Virginia Tech, Kiffin is leaving to take over for former USC boss Pete Carroll.

Carroll left Southern California to become the next head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

According to ESPN, Kiffin “will bring his father and defensive coordinator, Monte Kiffin, and assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron to Southern Cal with him.”

With the move, Kiffin returns to the school where he spent 2001-2006 as an assistant.

How do you think the University of Tennessee feels right now?
