Bad news out of Big D as Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo suffered a broken clavicle during Monday night’s loss and is expected to miss around 6-8 weeks, per ESPN.com.
No official timetable has been set for the Pro Bowl quarterback’s return to the field, so be advised that Romo could be out longer than eight weeks. But with this type of injury, don’t expect to see him back before six weeks.
This injury is going to cause a lot of problems for fantasy owners (myself included). Despite the 1-5 record, Romo was a top-nine fantasy quarterback despite already missing one game due to the Cowboys’ bye week.
However, owners are advised NOT to panic. There are some guys on the waiver wire that can help. If you don’t already have an adequate QB2, we advise you to pick up at least two available quarterbacks so that you have the ability to play the more favorable matchup each week.
Some names to consider:
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Buffalo Bills
Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions
Matt Cassel, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
Sam Bradford, QB, St. Louis Rams
Jon Kitna, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Those are just some of the guys to keep in mind. Hit me up in the “Ask Joe” section and we’ll work this thing out.
