Saban's comment will head to Auburn's bulletin board

While Alabama head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are meeting with President Obama Monday in Washington D.C., comments made by Saban this past Saturday are slowly starting to make their way around the internet.

And wouldn’t you know, Saban’s statement has to do with Alabama’s most hated rival: The Auburn Tigers.

While accepting a trophy for last November’s Iron Bowl win this past Saturday at the Alabama-Auburn basketball game, Saban tried to express his respect for the Crimson Tide’s in-state rivals.

It backfired.

Saban thanked the fans and then expressed his respect for the “University of Auburn,” according to the Associated Press.

Unfortunately, the institution is known as “Auburn University.”

After losing to the Crimson Tide 26-21 in last November’s Iron Bowl, the Tigers now have another reason to get up for this year’s showdown with their cross-state rivals.

And that is why you have to love college football.
