Seahawks to reunite with Hutchinson?
After six years and roughly $40 million in earnings, it’s possible Steve Hutchinson could be headed back to the Pacific Northwest.
Mike Sando of ESPN.com is reporting that the Seahawks are meeting with the free agent offensive guard Wednesday in Seattle.
Hutchinson—an 11-year veteran and seven-time All-Pro selection—spent the first five years of his career with the Seahawks where he started 68 games and earned three trips to the Pro Bowl. In 2006, the former first-round draft pick out of Michigan jumped ship to the Minnesota Vikings for a seven-year, $49 million contract.
The Seahawks surrendered 50 sacks in 2011 (fourth-most in NFL), so the organization could clearly use some help along the offensive line. Whether or not Hutchinson is the answer remains to be seen, but we’ve been waiting for the Seahawks to get involved in the free agent frenzy and this could possibly be their first move.
