Several 49er vets absent from OTAs
The San Francisco 49ers went 8-8 in 2009, giving the franchise its first non-losing season since 2002 when the Niners went 10-6 and made the playoffs.
And with the Arizona Cardinals losing several key players from their 2008 Super Bowl run this offseason, you might figure the 49ers would have some extra motivation heading into next year with a suddenly wide-open NFC West.
Despite the extra incentive, the 49ers were without several key veterans at Monday’s OTAs, according to a tweet from David White of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Cornerback Nate Clements, linebacker Manny Lawson, nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin, running back Michael Robinson and linebacker Shawntae Spencer were all absent.
That’s 30 years of NFL experience right there.
