Recent Trends (provided by our friends at Covers.com)
ATS: Against the spread
Colts are 7-0-1 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games.
Colts are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a road favorite.
Colts are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 road games.
Colts are 0-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a home underdog of 3.5-10.0.
Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games.
Titans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.
Titans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in December.
Analysis: The Colts have lost three straight and four of their last five, but you have to wonder why nobody is talking about the fact that Tennessee has dropped five-straight games and is currently stuck in a worse freefall. At least Indy has something to play for tonight.
The Titans are averaging just 12.8 points per game during their current five-game skid, but should find some success on the ground tonight vs. an Indianapolis run defense that is giving up an average of 159.0 yards per game on the road this season.
For the Colts, the key to a victory will lie in their ability to protect the football. Quarterback Peyton Manning has thrown 11 interceptions over his last three games and will have to be careful against a Titans defense that ranks eighth in the NFL in interceptions this season (15).
Prediction: Despite the fact that the Titans have been awful lately, this is a primetime divisional showdown. If they can’t get up for this, they can’t get up for anything. Look for Tennessee to put up a fight.
Current Monday/Thursday Record: 14-7-1
Pick: I’ll take the Colts and will lay the four points. No way I bet on Kerry Collins over Peyton Manning.
