Troy Smith gets his shot
The good people of England are going to see something this weekend that we Americans have not seen for quite some time.
Troy Smith as a starting quarterback.
That’s because San Francisco starter Alex Smith is expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks due to a separated shoulder he sustained in Week 7 at Carolina.
I know that some of you Romo owners are out there searching for a quarterback, but we have to advise against picking up Smith. The former Ohio State Buckeye hasn’t started a game at quarterback since 2007 and has only thrown 13 passes over the last two years.
In addition, the loss of Smith delivers a blow to the values of tight end Vernon Davis and wide receiver Michael Crabtree.
