Analysis: With rookie quarterback Joe Webb under center for the majority of the game last Monday vs. Chicago, the Vikings managed only 14 points and just 273 yards of offense while committing a shocking five turnovers. To make matters worse, a holiday blizzard rolled through Philadelphia over the weekend, forcing the Vikings to remain in their hotel from Saturday until Tuesday.
Keep in mind that Philadelphia is 5-0 against the Vikings since 2001 (including the playoffs), with a 14.8 average margin of victory. In those five meetings, the Eagles have won four of them by double digits.
Current Monday/Thursday/Tuesday Record: 18-10-1
Pick: I know I sound like a homer, but I’m not putting my money down on Joe Webb and the Vikings when I could just as easily take Michael Vick and the Eagles. This is a big point spread, but keep in mind that Philadelphia currently ranks first in the NFL in total offense (403.9 yds/gm) and second in scoring offense (29.4 pts/gm).
Who ya got?
