Turkey Day Picks
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Since today is a holiday, I’m not going to hit you with a ton of stats and trends. Instead, I’m just going to make some picks and encourage all of you to do the same.
Because it really doesn’t get any better than stuffing your face with good food while winning money.
TURKEY DAY LOCKS
Current Monday/Thursday Record: 10-4-1
New England Patriots at Detroit Lions
Opening Line: -7/51
Current Line: -7/50.5
Pick: Patriots -7
Reason: If there’s any team in the NFL that can cover the spread on the road coming off a short practice week, it’s Tom Terrific and the New England Patriots. Detroit has lost six-straight games on Thanksgiving and I’m betting Bill Belichick is about to extend that streak to seven.
New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys
Opening Line: Saints -3/50.5
Current Line: Saints -4/50
Pick: Cowboys +4
Reason: The Cowboys have won four straight games on Thanksgiving and more importantly, have rattled off two consecutive wins since firing head coach Wade Phillips. The Saints are coming into JerryWorld on short rest while Big D is getting points. New Orleans may win, but can they cover more than a field goal?
Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets
Opening Line: Jets -9.5/43.5
Current Line: Jets -9.5/43.5
Pick: Jets -9.5
Reason: I don’t care how many points the Jets are laying. Bottom line: the Bengals have quit on the season. We saw it last week vs. Buffalo and I don’t see any way this team is going to get their head’s right on short rest. New York in a blowout.
Who ya got?
