Updated CFB championship odds: Alabama reclaims top spot
While the final score read 42-21 at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday afternoon, rest assured that Alabama’s victory over Florida was as thorough a beating as you’ll find within the college football landscape. The Crimson Tide won the total yardage (645 to 200), third down (12/16 to 2/13) and time of possession battles (39:16 to 20:44) en route to reclaiming the top spot on the college football championship odds board at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
Some of the other notable adjustments include:
Texas A&M Aggies: Have been ever-so-slowly climbing the board to their current position at 12/1. Now 4-0 after dismantling SMU 58-6 on Saturday.
LSU Tigers: Dropped from 15/1 to 40/1 following Saturday night’s home loss to Mississippi State.
Mississippi State Bulldogs: Opened the season in the loaded SEC West at 100/1, but now find themselves within striking distance at 40/1 following Saturday night’s impressive 34-29 upset win in Baton Rouge.
Florida Gators: Plummeted from 40/1 to 100/1 after getting steamrolled by Alabama on Saturday afternoon.
Utah Utes: A big move into relevance from 1000/1 to 200/1 after a convincing 26-10 win over Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday. Now 3-0 on the season.
Duke Blue Devils: Like Utah, moved from 1000/1 to a worth-monitoring 300/1 following a 47-13 shellacking of Tulane. Undefeated at 4-0.
North Carolina Tar Heels: From 200/1 to 500/1 after getting pummeled for the second consecutive year by ECU (55-31 in 2013, 70-41 on Saturday). Now 2-1 with looming road dates at Clemson (9/27) and Notre Dame (10/11) on the horizon.
