Updated CFB championship odds: Auburn rising
Week 3 of the 2014 college football season offered little in the form of marquee showdowns and even less when it came to movement on the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook’s odds board.
South Carolina’s 38-35 upset win over previously unbeaten Georgia moved the Gamecocks from 75/1 to 40/1 while dropping the Bulldogs from 10/1 to 20/1. Despite the loss, Georgia has moved from -37.5 to as high as -40 for this Saturday’s matchup with Troy, while South Carolina has been adjusted from -20.5 to -21.5 for the team’s Week 4 date with Vanderbilt, per Sportsbook Review.com.
The Auburn Tigers (8/1), who were a mere 13 seconds from claiming last season’s championship, have been steadily climbing the board after opening 2-0 with wins over Arkansas (45-21) and San Jose State (59-13). The Tigers now prepare for a marquee Thursday night showdown at #20 Kansas State, where Auburn is currently a 9.5-point favorite.
UCLA (12/1), Baylor (15/1) and Notre Dame (25/1) all took small steps forward this week.
USC (30/1), Washington (100/1) and Iowa (300/1) all moved in the wrong direction.
