Updates on D-Jax, Vick
Here’s where we stand on the latest updates out of the City of Brotherly Love:
DeSean Jackson, WR: After suffering a concussion on a brutal hit by Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson, Jackson has been ruled out for the Birds’ Week 7 game at Tennessee. Philadelphia is on the bye in Week 8, so hopefully Jackson will be ready to return to action after three weeks of recovery.
However, predictions are beginning to surface that D-Jax could possibly miss “multiple games” due to what Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com reported was a “severe concussion with memory loss.”
Owners are advised to sit tight and start making plans to get through the next few weeks without Jackson. Target Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch on the waiver wire this week.
In addition, now is a real good time to go after Jackson in a trade. His current owner is probably panicking, which could lead to a great deal.
Michael Vick, QB: I have a feeling we’ll be talking about the quarterback situation in Philadelphia for the rest of the year. As it stands, Kevin Kolb is expected to start in Week 7 while Vick takes another week to recover from a rib cartilage injury he suffered in Week 4 at Washington.
The real concern for Vick owners has to be the play of Kevin Kolb. In two starts in place of Vick, Kolb is 2-0 with a quarterback rating of 118.7. If he keeps this up, Kolb will remain the starter.
